Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for bringing us together in one accord through His Spirit. From the beginning God has been looking for a covenant people that would walk with Him in a special way. He First created Adam and Eve to start for Himself a people who would love and walk with Him. We all know too well that Adam and Eve went their own way and the covenant between them and God was broken and they were put outside His presence. Then we find in Genesis 9: God establishes a covenant between Himself and Noah and all the earth and set a sign in heaven as a reminder of that covenant (The Rainbow) and yet man drifted away again. God again came to Abram, and in Genesis 15: God made covenant with Abram and his descendants, and the promised child was born to an old couple who had been barren all their lives and at the age of 100 Abram had a son through Sarah who was 90 years old. God's covenant was passed from Abraham to Isaac, and then Jacob and even though God was faithful over and over, man was not, for wickedness was passed from generation to generation. In these latter days God has made a covenant here with us, not like the old covenants, for this covenant is purchased with the blood of His own Son "Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 1:7) and is through His Spirit dwelling in His people (Romans 8:11) and through His Spirit we have become the children of God (Romans 8:15) and if children then also heirs (Romans 8:17), God's Spirit working in His covenant people, the people who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28) and a people whom God will bring to completion (Romans 8:30). I thank our God and Father that He has brought together this church which should remind us of our covenant relationship with our God and each other. May God's Spirit work in and through this body in such a way as to bring about what is written in (Matthew 22:37-40), that we would love Him with all our hearts, souls, and mind, and love one another as we love ourselves, for we know that "On these two commandments depends on the whole Law and the Prophets."
